The configuration of the PFC. William J. Grabiarz School of Excellence is a direct result of the educational concepts defined by the Buffalo School District’s educators and the architects at Macon Chaintreuil Jensen & Stark Architects, LLP.
Macon Chaintreuil Jensen & Stark Architects, LLP translated these educational concepts into plans for the airy and light school.
The 1200 student school is broken into two (2) houses of 600 students each. The classroom design is the generator of the overall plan for each house. Classrooms are designed to be flexible and promote a wide variety of activities. Common work spaces are included in the center of each house for shared project activity between classrooms.
Houses share special use rooms such as music, art and science. In addition to the academic houses, the school includes include a cafeteria, library, gymnasium, fitness rooms and a pool.
The school opened for classes as scheduled in September, 2000
